Travelling with...

Travelling with babies or children should not be a problem. Mexican people adore children and are used to see them in restaurants and hotels. Bring your own baby food, diapers, and medicines since these are available and inexpensive and in Mexico, but might not be the same.

It is easy to find babysitters, especially among the hotel staff. They usually do not speak English, but this does not seem to bother children. Check with reception for more details. Now, many hotels offer children programs and this allows parents to enjoy some free time.

Physically Challenged Individuals:
Access and other facilities for challenged travellers has improved in Mexico, though the lack of sufficient access ramps and elevators and the abundance of concrete stairways can make a trip to Mexico very difficult.

However, there is an organisation in the City of Oaxaca that can help and provide information: Consejo Estatal de Organizaciones de Personas con Discapacidad A.C., its President is Mr. Cornelio Nuez Diaz and the telephone number is (951) 3-8379.
